How You Can Help

Host a Fundraiser

Looking for a fun way to help the Ronald McDonald House?

Why not host your own fundraiser!

  • Fashion Show
  • Bake Sale
  • Tasting (Food, Wine, Chili, etc) Event
  • Talent Show

Or, make your next birthday extra special by raising funds for RMHC of the Bluegrass. Instead of gifts this year, why not ask friends and family to make a donation to the House?

How do you narrow down your options?

1.) Select the right fundraiser for you…
2.) Think of how much money is possible to be raised…
3.) Think of how much work this project will take…
4.) Look at what other groups in the past have done and decide if they are worth repeating.

Appoint someone as Chairperson (someone who has experience organizing an event) and encourage TEAM WORK!

How do I promote my fundraiser?

This depends on what kind of event you are throwing. Posters, flyers, personalized invitations, e-mails, newsletters, websites, etc. Don’t forget the power of word of mouth. Let everybody you know get in on the action to help benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass.

Remember:  Before you print anything, you will need to contact Sarah Warner (RMHC Executive Director / contact information below) to get permission & approval to use the official RMHC of the Bluegrass logo.

Tips for a Success
1.) Pick a good location. If event is held outside, be sure to provide protection from bad weather.
2.) Have some rules for your own group.
3.) Make sure what your doing is LEGAL!
4.) Calculate any costs you might have in advance.
5.) Pick your date wisely. Plan on a date when no other events are happening, that way there is no competition between yours and another event that day.
6.) Have name tags so that your name and the event name can always be seen.
7.) And of course, remember to say “Thank You”!
